The Oyo State Police Command has arrested at least five individuals suspected to be involved in robbery activities across the state.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed the arrests in a statement issued on Wednesday, noting that several items were recovered from the suspects.

According to him, the suspects identified include Abiodun Michael, Olaoluwa Pamole, and Ahmed Ismail, among others.

Ayanlade said a search carried out on the suspects led to the recovery of several items, including one Magnum pump-action gun with six live cartridges. Other items recovered were multiple mobile phones—iPhone 17, iPhone 15, iPhone 13, iPhone 8, iPhone XR, iPhone 16 (blue), and iPhone 14 Pro Max—as well as Tecno Camon, Tecno CKG, Tecno Spark 20, and Tecno CM6 devices.

The police also recovered five Redmi phones, a Samsung Galaxy S10, a Wi-Fi device, a power bank, an Oraimo radio, four wristwatches, and cash amounting to ₦130,000.

In a related development, Ayanlade said two other suspects were arrested in connection with the theft of a motorcycle in the Ido Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, identified as Sanusi Audu and Amisu Sani, were apprehended during an operation by police officers.

He explained that during preliminary interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing the motorcycle from where it was parked at Lapade village via Ile-Ido in Ibadan.

According to him, investigations are ongoing as the police intensify efforts to determine whether the suspects are linked to other criminal activities within the area.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
