FIRSTHOLDCO JOINS FTSE FRONTIER 50 INDEX, BOOSTING GLOBAL INVESTOR VISIBILITY
FirstHoldCo Plc has been included in the FTSE Frontier 50 Index, strengthening the financial services group’s visibility among international investors and improving its access to global capital markets.
The inclusion, effective September 21, 2026, places FirstHoldCo among 50 companies from 26 countries that make up the FTSE Frontier 50, one of the key benchmarks for frontier-market equities.
The development follows Nigeria’s return to FTSE Russell’s Frontier Market classification after the country was previously moved to the unclassified category.
Market analysts said FirstHoldCo’s inclusion reflects improvements in the company’s market position, liquidity and overall investability. It is also expected to increase the company’s exposure to global institutional investors seeking opportunities in frontier markets.
The listing could provide greater visibility for FirstHoldCo’s shares and potentially support increased participation by international investors in the Nigerian capital market.
FirstHoldCo is among 10 Nigerian companies selected for inclusion in the FTSE Frontier Index Series. Other companies include Dangote Cement, MTN Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Holding Company, Zenith Bank, Stanbic IBTC Holdings and Nestlé Nigeria.
Nigeria’s reclassification is expected to improve the international visibility of the country’s equities market and create opportunities for deeper foreign investment.
