FINTIRI SUSPENDS SCHOOLS BOARD BOSS
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has suspended the Executive Secretary of the State Post Primary Schools Management Board, Birsan Penuel, over alleged irregularities in the discharge of his official duties.
The suspension took immediate effect and is intended to allow a thorough investigation into the allegations against the board’s executive secretary.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, announced the decision in a statement.
Following the suspension, the most senior director in the board has been directed to take over the affairs of the agency and ensure that its activities continue without disruption.
Fintiri said his administration remained committed to sanitising and repositioning the education sector to improve service delivery across the state.
The governor also warned political appointees and public officers to comply with due process, transparency and accountability in the performance of their responsibilities.
He said his administration would take necessary measures to protect the integrity of the education system and prevent actions that could undermine progress in the sector.
The suspension will remain in place while the allegations against Penuel are investigated.
