Financial market professionals have held simultaneous walks in Lagos and Abuja to promote ethical conduct, sustainable business practices and professional wellbeing.

The annual walk, organised by the Financial Markets Integrity Group, attracted about 500 registered participants from seven professional bodies, with the total attendance estimated at nearly 600.

The event brought together regulators, senior financial professionals and other stakeholders in the industry.

In Abuja, Securities and Exchange Commission Director-General, Emomotimi Agama, joined the walk and highlighted the importance of physical fitness in maintaining focus and resilience in demanding professional roles.

In Lagos, participants included executives from the Nigerian Exchange, Association of Securities Dealing Houses of Nigeria, Institute of Capital Market Registrars, Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria and other industry groups.

CFA Society Nigeria Executive Director, Adeyemi Ajagun, said the initiative was designed to strengthen ethical standards and encourage sustainable practices across the financial market.

He said this year’s event also focused on climate risk and its implications for financial outcomes, urging professionals to consider environmental and social factors when structuring transactions.

The organisers said a resilient financial market requires responsible decision-making that protects the interests of investors, businesses and consumers while supporting long-term growth.
