FIDELITY BANK TO TRAIN WOMEN IN SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled the second edition of its flagship women-empowerment initiative, the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme (HAP) 2.0, aimed at equipping women with practical, income-generating skills and structured pathways into entrepreneurship.
The bank announced on Monday that HAP 2.0 will build on the success of its inaugural edition in 2023.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank Plc, explained that the programme has been enhanced to maximize its impact.
“HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. After reviewing feedback from the first edition, we have returned with stronger partnerships and deeper mentorship programmes to ensure that women gain not only skills but sustainable economic opportunities. At the core of the programme is guided, real-world learning. Participants will receive intensive apprenticeship training under reputable institutions and industry experts in fields such as hair styling, shoemaking, auto mechatronics, and interior decoration,” Ede stated.
He added that HAP 2.0 goes beyond skills acquisition by providing a wide range of business support services, including business and financial literacy training, ongoing mentorship, access to Fidelity Bank’s women-focused and SME financial solutions, and guidance on business formalisation and growth strategies.
“By combining structured mentorship with entrepreneurial development, Fidelity Bank is preparing women not just as trainees, but as future employers, innovators, and contributors to their local economies,” Ede said. “This initiative aligns with our broader mission to help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and economies prosper.”
Fidelity Bank Plc is a full-service commercial bank serving over 10 million customers through digital channels, 255 business offices across Nigeria, and its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
