The Federal Government has warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies against rejecting Treasury officers redeployed to their organisations.

The warning followed a directive from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation ordering the immediate redeployment of 43 Treasury officials to various MDAs. The officers include deputy directors, assistant directors and other personnel under the Accountant-General’s office.

The OAGF said the exercise was aimed at improving financial operations, efficiency and service delivery across government institutions. The affected officers are expected to complete their handover and assumption of duty processes by September 18, 2026.

The government warned that any MDA that refuses to receive the newly posted officers or prevents existing Treasury officers from leaving their current positions could lose access to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System and the Remita payment gateway.

The affected officials were also warned that failure to comply with the posting directive could attract disciplinary action under the Public Service Rules.

The redeployment covers several major government institutions, including the State House, Office of the Vice President, ministries, the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Revenue Service and other agencies.

The Federal Government said the exercise was part of broader efforts to strengthen financial controls and improve accountability in the management of public funds.
