The Federal Government is set to launch the African Global Festival Nigeria, known as AGLOFEST, in October 2026 as part of efforts to promote Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy, economic cooperation and international engagement.

The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr Ibrahim Kana, announced the development in a statement issued in Abuja.

According to the government, the festival will bring together government officials, investors, businesses, cultural institutions, creative industry professionals, entrepreneurs and development partners.

AGLOFEST will feature three major components: the Black Diaspora Economic Forum, the Black Diaspora Cultural Presentation, and the Renewed Global Hope and Peace Concert.

The economic forum will focus on trade, investment and business partnerships, while the cultural presentation will showcase African heritage and creative expressions. The concert is expected to promote peace, unity and international engagement through music and entertainment.

The initiative is being developed as a public-private partnership involving the Federal Government and relevant stakeholders, including the Ministries of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy; Trade, Investment and Industry; and Foreign Affairs.

The government said the festival is also intended to showcase Nigeria’s tourism potential, creative industries and investment opportunities to an international audience while strengthening ties with Africa and the global Black Diaspora.
