The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security across Nigeria and protecting citizens from threats, the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has said.

Badaru said the government remained focused on equipping and supporting the nation’s security forces to effectively tackle terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminal activity across the country.

The minister made the remarks while highlighting ongoing efforts by the government and security agencies to improve national security and safeguard lives and property.

He said the Federal Government was working to strengthen cooperation among the military, police and other security agencies to ensure a coordinated response to security challenges.

According to Badaru, the government recognises the sacrifices being made by security personnel and will continue to provide the necessary support for them to carry out their responsibilities.

He also stressed the importance of cooperation between security agencies and communities in addressing insecurity, urging Nigerians to provide useful information that could assist ongoing operations.

The minister said the government would continue to review its security strategies in response to emerging threats while ensuring that personnel receive the resources needed to perform effectively.

He assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remained determined to restore lasting peace and stability across the country.

The statement comes amid continued security concerns in several parts of Nigeria, with authorities under pressure to intensify efforts to protect communities and improve public safety.
