The Federal Government has dismissed reports suggesting that Nigeria’s education data platform was hacked or suffered a cyberattack, describing the claims as false and misleading.

Authorities said the system remains fully operational and secure, with no evidence of unauthorized access or data compromise recorded on the platform.

According to officials, routine monitoring and security checks conducted on the database showed no breach, contrary to circulating reports on social media and some online platforms.

The government urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours, warning that misinformation about sensitive national systems could cause unnecessary panic among students, parents, and education stakeholders.

Education authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to protecting digital infrastructure used in managing student records, examinations, and other academic data.

They explained that cybersecurity measures have been strengthened across government platforms to prevent potential threats and ensure data integrity.

Officials further advised the public to rely only on verified information from official channels when it comes to matters involving national digital systems.

The clarification comes amid growing concerns globally over cyber threats targeting public institutions, particularly in the education and government sectors.

Authorities say they will continue to enhance security systems while maintaining transparency to build public confidence in digital services.

The Federal Government reiterated that there has been no disruption to education data services and all operations remain normal.
