The Federal Government says it has completed 40 road projects across the country while continuing construction on more than 5,400 kilometres of roads to improve transportation and boost economic activities.
According to government officials, the ongoing projects are part of efforts to modernise Nigeria’s road infrastructure, enhance connectivity between communities, and ease the movement of people and goods. The completed roads are expected to improve access to key commercial centres and reduce travel time for motorists.
The government noted that expanding the national road network remains a priority for supporting trade, agriculture, and industrial development. It added that work is progressing on several major highway projects aimed at strengthening regional integration and improving logistics.
Infrastructure experts welcomed the development, saying improved road networks are essential for lowering transportation costs, attracting investment, and stimulating economic growth.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to completing ongoing projects on schedule, stressing that sustained investment in road infrastructure will play a key role in enhancing mobility, creating jobs, and supporting long-term national development.
