FG COMPLETES 16 ABANDONED E-LIBRARIES IN UNITY COLLEGES

The Federal Government has completed the construction and equipping of 16 abandoned electronic libraries in Federal Unity Colleges across the country.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, made the announcement on Tuesday during an oversight visit to some of the upgraded facilities.

According to the minister, the projects, which were abandoned for several years, have now been fully activated with modern computers, internet connectivity, and digital learning resources.

“This intervention is part of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to revitalising education infrastructure and bridging the digital divide in our schools,” Prof. Mamman said.

The newly completed e-libraries are expected to enhance research, reading culture, and digital literacy among students in the unity schools.

Principals of the benefiting colleges commended the government for the timely completion of the projects, noting that the facilities will significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes.

The Federal Ministry of Education revealed that more e-library projects are in the pipeline as part of broader efforts to modernise secondary education in Nigeria.
