Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has expressed his disappointment at the possibility of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen signing for Galatasaray instead of the Red Devils.

Speaking in an interview with tennis player Nick Kyrgios on talkSPORT, Ferdinand emphasized that Manchester United should pursue Osimhen, especially after missing out on Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres, who is reportedly close to joining Arsenal.

“Osimhen is a proven goal scorer at the highest level,” Ferdinand noted. “I saw that Galatasaray have made a £50 million bid for him — in today’s market, that’s nothing.”

He added, “I’d be really disappointed if Osimhen ends up at Galatasaray for that kind of fee, especially when Manchester United desperately need a top-class striker.”

However, he concluded on a positive note: “If United do manage to sign Osimhen, then I’d have no worries at all.”
