FDX by GITEX is set to bring together regulators, investors, financial institutions, technology companies and startups as part of efforts to shape a more inclusive and digitally driven financial future for Africa.

The platform, which will form part of GITEX NIGERIA 2026, is scheduled to hold on September 3 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos. It is designed to connect capital, policymaking and digital innovation while addressing some of the challenges limiting access to financial services across the continent.

The initiative comes at a time when Africa’s financial sector is undergoing rapid technological transformation. The continent’s digital payments economy is projected to reach about $1.5 trillion by 2030, increasing the need for stronger financial infrastructure, innovative payment systems and wider access to digital financial services.

Discussions at FDX by GITEX are expected to focus on several emerging areas, including digital assets, intelligent payments, decentralised finance, institutional investment, cross-border finance and the development of modern financial infrastructure.

The organisers said the platform would provide an opportunity for policymakers and private-sector leaders to examine how technology can be used to expand financial access, increase investment and create new economic opportunities for individuals and businesses across Africa.

Capital mobilisation is also expected to be a major focus, particularly as African businesses and governments continue to seek new sources of funding for infrastructure and economic development.

The summit will further provide a platform for financial institutions, fintech companies, investors and technology innovators to explore partnerships and investment opportunities that could accelerate the growth of Africa’s digital economy.

The organisers believe stronger collaboration between governments, regulators, investors and technology companies will be essential to building financial systems that are more accessible, efficient and capable of supporting economic growth.

FDX by GITEX is therefore expected to serve not only as a forum for discussions but also as a platform for connecting businesses and investors and translating ideas into practical financial and technological solutions.

The event is part of GITEX NIGERIA 2026, which will run from August 31 to September 3 across Abuja and Lagos, bringing together technology companies, startups, investors, government officials and other stakeholders to discuss Africa’s digital transformation.

Through the initiative, organisers are seeking to position Nigeria as an important meeting point for conversations around Africa’s financial technology, investment and digital transformation agenda.
