The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its performance in the recently concluded FCT Area Council elections and the Rivers State bye-election, describing the results as a reflection of increasing public confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s policies and programmes.

Speaking on Sunday, Wike noted that the party’s victories, particularly in remote communities across the FCT, indicate that government initiatives are beginning to make a tangible impact at the grassroots level.

He highlighted that, for the first time, the APC secured councillorship seats in some hinterland areas, in addition to achieving what he termed an overwhelming majority in local council chairmanship positions.

Commenting on the Rivers State bye-election, the former Rivers State governor described the APC’s success as a triumph for a “rainbow coalition” of political stakeholders, reflecting a wider alignment of interests in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

“The results underscore shifting political dynamics and growing cross-party collaboration ahead of future electoral contests,” Wike said.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
