The Head of Civil Service for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Grace Adayilo, has died.

Reports say Mrs. Adayilo collapsed early Monday morning and passed away. The exact cause of her death has not yet been confirmed.

President Bola Tinubu had appointed her in October 2024 as the first female and indigenous Head of Service of the FCT. Her appointment was celebrated as historic, as she became the first Abuja indigene to occupy the role in the FCT Administration.

Her most recent official duty was last Thursday, when she represented the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, at the G7 Security Meeting in Abuja.

Her sudden passing has left colleagues and residents of the FCT in shock, as tributes continue to pour in for her contributions to governance and service delivery.
