First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has convened a high-level investors’ forum to address critical financing gaps in Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

The event brought together investors, healthcare providers, policymakers, and development partners to explore innovative funding models, public-private partnerships, and investment opportunities in hospitals, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and health technology.

FCMB’s Managing Director highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting the sector, noting that adequate financing is essential for improving healthcare infrastructure, expanding access, and achieving universal health coverage.

Participants discussed challenges such as high capital requirements, regulatory hurdles, and foreign exchange risks, while identifying opportunities in medical tourism, telemedicine, and local drug manufacturing.

Stakeholders called for stronger collaboration between the financial sector and health authorities to unlock billions in investment. The forum is expected to lead to concrete deals and policy recommendations that will strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system and drive economic growth.
