The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has shut down an electronics company in Lagos following multiple complaints from consumers over alleged unfair practices and product-related issues.

According to the commission, the enforcement action followed several petitions from customers who accused the company of selling faulty products, refusing refunds, and failing to honour warranty agreements. The complaints prompted an investigation that led to the sealing of the company’s premises.

Officials of the FCCPC stated that the action is part of ongoing efforts to protect consumers from exploitation and ensure that businesses comply with fair trade and consumer protection laws in Nigeria.

The commission warned that any company found engaging in deceptive practices, poor service delivery, or violation of consumer rights would face strict regulatory action, including closure and prosecution where necessary.

Consumers have been encouraged to report similar cases through official FCCPC channels, as the agency continues to intensify monitoring of businesses across key sectors, including electronics, telecommunications, and retail.

The FCCPC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring accountability in the marketplace and restoring public confidence in commercial transactions.

As investigations continue, the affected company is expected to respond to the allegations in accordance with regulatory procedures.
