“FAYOSE’S BROTHER SLAMS HIM FOR ATTACKING OBASANJO: ‘A PIG WILL ALWAYS BE A PIG’”
A fresh wave of family drama and political tension has unfolded as Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, publicly condemned his brother for verbally attacking former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The controversy began after Ayo Fayose allegedly sent a harsh text message to Obasanjo, accusing the ex-president of being “irresponsible” and claiming he “belongs in the zoo.” The message, which was released by Obasanjo’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, also described the former president as someone battling “heightened dementia.”
In the SMS, Fayose reportedly wrote:
“Someone once said you are supposed to be kept away in the zoo. Sincerely, that’s where you belong.”
He also demanded a refund of money he claimed Obasanjo acknowledged receiving, adding that he refrained from responding at a public event so Nigerians could “see the difference between a sane and a mad man.”
Obasanjo responded briefly but pointedly, thanking Fayose for the message and stating that it confirmed “who and what you are, unchanged and unchangeable.”
However, the twist came when Ayo Fayose’s own brother, Isaac, distanced himself from the outburst and openly criticized him. Taking to Instagram, Isaac described his elder brother as someone whose behaviour can’t be refined—no matter the circumstances.
He wrote:
“A pig will forever remain a pig irrespective of the garlands you dress him in.”
Isaac also attached the press statement where Ayo Fayose heavily criticized Obasanjo, making it clear he did not support his brother’s actions.
The public feud has sparked discussions online, with many Nigerians reacting to the family’s open disagreement and the ongoing rift between the former governor and the elder statesman.
