FASEHUN’S OPC GROUP BACKS TINUBU’S 2027 RE-ELECTION BID

A faction of the Oodua Peoples Congress associated with the late founder of the group, Frederick Fasehun, has declared its support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid to secure a second term in office in the 2027 presidential election.

The group said its decision was based on its assessment of the Tinubu administration and what it described as efforts to reposition the country’s economy and strengthen development.

The OPC faction said it would mobilise its members and supporters across the South-West to support Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

Its leaders urged members to remain committed to the group’s political position and work towards securing support for the President at the grassroots.

The endorsement comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to intensify, with different groups and political organisations declaring support for presidential aspirants and candidates.

The group also called on the Federal Government to sustain policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians and addressing economic challenges facing households and businesses.

The OPC faction maintained that continued engagement with communities would be important in mobilising voters and communicating the administration’s policies ahead of the election.

Tinubu’s potential second-term bid has already generated significant political activity, particularly in the South-West, where political groups are positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
