FAMILY SEEKS HELP FINDING MISSING LAGOS TEACHER, ASHOGBA SOWEDO
The family of 33-year-old private tutor, Ashogba Sowedo, has appealed to the public for help after he went missing from his Badagry residence on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Sowedo, who also runs a small phone-charging business, is a father of one and has a history of brief disappearances linked to severe malaria, which can leave him disoriented.
His uncle, Setonji Adele, explained that the family initially did not panic because similar episodes had occurred before.
“We haven’t reported it to the police because this isn’t the first time. He sometimes leaves home and later finds his way back,” Adele said.
However, nearly a month has passed since Sowedo left home, far longer than previous absences. The family’s concern grew after his wife received unusual WhatsApp messages purportedly from him, and repeated calls to his phone went unanswered. A strange post also appeared on his WhatsApp status three days after he vanished.
Adele noted that during a prior disappearance, Sowedo returned home without his phone, raising fears that someone else may currently have it. Additionally, a local resident reportedly saw him confused and wandering near traffic the Monday after he disappeared.
Sowedo is described as dark-complexioned and of average height. He is married but lives separately from his wife, with whom he co-parents their three-year-old son.
The family is now considering filing a formal police report to track his phone and locate him safely. They urge anyone with information to contact 09021348576 or report to the nearest police station.
The family’s plea highlights the urgent need for community vigilance and support to ensure Sowedo’s safe return.
