Bereaved Aiguokhian family calls for accountability and police investigation following the death of Ayomide Aiguokhian at a Chinese-owned manufacturing facility in Mowe

The family of 22-year-old Ayomide Aiguokhian has appealed to Ogun State authorities and law enforcement agencies for justice following his tragic death from alleged electrocution while working at a Chinese-owned factory in Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

The bereaved father, Mr. Aiguokhian, recounted receiving the devastating news of his son’s death directly from mortuary attendants rather than factory management, raising serious questions regarding workplace safety protocols and emergency response procedures at the industrial site.

According to the family, the late Ayomide suffered fatal electrical injuries during his duty shift, with bodily trauma visible upon their arrival at the morgue. The deceased's family expressed deep distress over the company's handling of the crisis, criticizing management for allegedly failing to notify the family immediately when the incident occurred.

Representing the factory, a company official identified as Victory stated that human resources staff attempted emergency medical interventions at the scene before the young worker was rushed to a nearby hospital, where attending doctors pronounced him dead. He added that the company is participating in police inquiries, undergoing autopsy evaluations, and engaging with the family's legal representatives to resolve compensation discussions.

Ogun State Police Command officials confirmed that preliminary investigations into the workplace fatality are underway, with post-mortem examination results expected to establish the precise cause of death and determine further regulatory or criminal liabilities.
