EZECHUKWU CROWNED FASTEST WOMAN IN NIGERIA AT JOS EVENT
At the MTN CHAMPS Continental Relays held in Jos, Plateau State, Miracle Ezechukwu emerged as Nigeria’s fastest female sprinter in the Junior (U‑20) category, clocking 11.42 seconds in the women’s 100m final — a performance that set a new national U‑20 record for the 2026 season.
Ezechukwu, representing N‑Youth Sports, had earlier posted a personal best of 11.26 seconds in the semifinals, also a record time, before sealing her victory in the finals at the New Jos Stadium. Her performance not only earned her the gold medal at the event but also positioned her as one of Nigeria’s leading young sprinters this season.
Team MTN’s Lucy Nwankwo finished second with 11.65 seconds, and Rosemary Nwankwo took third place with 11.78 seconds. Both athletes also impressed in the semifinals and look set to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming World U‑20 Championships.
