EX-SOKOTO PDP CHAIR JOINS ADC CAMPAIGN

Former Sokoto State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party has joined the African Democratic Congress and been appointed to lead the party’s governorship campaign in the state.

The former PDP chairman announced his exit from the party before moving to the ADC, where he is expected to play a key role in organising the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.

His defection represents another political realignment in Sokoto State as parties strengthen their structures and attract influential members ahead of the polls.

The new ADC campaign leader is expected to coordinate the party’s activities, mobilise supporters and work with other stakeholders to expand its presence across the state.

ADC leaders welcomed his decision to join the party and expressed confidence that his political experience would contribute to its campaign efforts.

The development comes amid a wave of defections and political movements across the country as politicians position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The former PDP chairman is expected to work with party leaders and candidates to develop strategies for winning support among voters in Sokoto.

His move could also affect the political calculations within the state, particularly given his previous position and experience within the PDP.

The ADC said it remained focused on building a strong political structure and presenting an alternative platform to voters.

The former chairman called on his supporters and other political stakeholders to support the new political direction, promising to contribute his experience to the growth of the ADC in Sokoto State.
