A former head of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) has denied allegations of diverting ₦44 billion, insisting that no public funds were misappropriated during her tenure.

The former agency chief described the allegations as false and misleading, maintaining that all funds under the social intervention programmes were managed in line with established government procedures and financial regulations.

She said records of the agency's operations and financial transactions would demonstrate that the funds were used for their intended purposes, urging investigators and the public to rely on verified facts rather than speculation.

The denial comes amid ongoing investigations and public scrutiny surrounding the management of Nigeria's social investment programmes, which provide support to vulnerable households, students, and small businesses.

Legal and anti-corruption experts noted that allegations involving public funds should be resolved through transparent investigations and due process, with conclusions based on evidence presented by the relevant authorities.

The former NSIPA boss expressed confidence that the investigative process would clear her name, reiterating that she never diverted the ₦44 billion in question.
