Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Adebayo Shittu, has expressed sympathy for ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over the political challenges he is currently facing.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News, Shittu admitted that despite their past political differences, he respects El-Rufai’s immense contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to Nigeria as a whole.

“I feel for El-Rufai because of all he contributed to the APC. I really wish he weren’t facing these difficulties. If there was a way I could support him, I would,” Shittu said.

He also described the political climate in Kaduna as highly delicate, adding that with the ongoing power shifts, it is still too early for anyone to claim total control or success in the state.

Shittu’s remarks have drawn attention as they highlight not only the former minister’s recognition of El-Rufai’s role in the APC, but also the complicated dynamics currently shaping politics in Kaduna and beyond.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
