EX-FRSC BOSS JOINS HEI BOARD
Retired Deputy Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Hyginus Uche Omeje, has joined the Board of Trustees of the Health Emergency Initiative.
The appointment was approved at the organisation’s board meeting on July 31, 2026, following a recommendation by its Ethics and Governance Committee.
Omeje retired from the FRSC in March 2026 after more than 30 years of service. He last served as Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Operations, where he coordinated nationwide operational strategies, supervised field commands and oversaw special intervention patrols.
During his career with the FRSC, he also served as Zonal Commanding Officer in Osogbo and Ilorin, Assistant Corps Marshal for Federal Operations, and Sector Commander in Lagos and Anambra.
His experience covered road safety enforcement, emergency rescue operations, public education and inter-agency coordination.
Omeje is currently the Managing Partner of Hystar Integrated Global Limited.
The Health Emergency Initiative said his experience in road crash prevention, emergency rescue and operational coordination would support its work in post-crash care, first-responder training and health emergency preparedness.
The organisation said the appointment would strengthen its leadership as it continues efforts to improve emergency healthcare access for vulnerable communities.
