EX-APC PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT WITHDRAWS FROM ACTIVE POLITICS

Former All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has announced his withdrawal from active politics to focus fully on his technology business.

Garba made this known in a statement shared on his X handle on Tuesday, saying he had decided to scale down all political activities and concentrate on his responsibilities as Executive Chairman of IPI Group Limited and Chief Platform Architect.

He explained that his role in the company requires sustained personal attention and technical expertise, making it difficult to combine with heavy political participation.

Garba said he would now focus on developing the company’s AI-first enterprise and using technology to contribute to the development of Nigeria and Africa.

He expressed gratitude to his supporters, associates, party leaders and others who supported his political journey over the past nine years.

Garba first declared his intention to contest the 2019 presidential election under the APC, campaigning on issues including structural reforms, youth inclusion and national integration.

He remained an APC presidential aspirant ahead of the 2023 election but withdrew from the party’s presidential primary in 2022.

His withdrawal followed concerns over the high cost of the APC’s expression-of-interest and nomination forms, which were pegged at ₦100 million. Garba argued that the cost could commercialise politics and prevent young and less-wealthy Nigerians from participating.

His campaign had reportedly raised about ₦83.2 million in donations, which he said would be returned.

Garba remained publicly associated with the APC in the years that followed before announcing his decision to step back from active political participation.
