EVEN IF I’M FCT MINISTER FOR 500 YEARS, I CAN’T SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS – WIKE TELLS RESIDENTS
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that even if he were to remain in office for 500 years, it would still be impossible to resolve all the challenges facing the nation’s capital.
Wike made the remark on Friday during the flag-off of the construction of Collector Road C01 in the Institution and Research District, linking the Body of Benchers to the Nile University area, including a bridge project.
He, however, assured residents that his administration would continue to do its best within the available time and resources to improve infrastructure and living conditions in the FCT.
“As a minister, I may be allowed to stay here for 500 years, but problems will continue to come up. I cannot solve all the problems,” Wike said.
“But within what we can do, within the time frame and resources available, we’ll do the best to give our people what they deserve.”
Wike also expressed appreciation to the Body of Benchers for their continuous support and collaboration with the FCT Administration.
He emphasized that the newly flagged-off road project was for the benefit of all residents and called on citizens to support the government’s efforts toward ensuring proper development in the capital city.
“What is worth doing is worth doing well, so everybody should support the government to make sure the right things are done and positive results are achieved,” he added.
The minister reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Abuja maintains its status as a well-planned and functional city, despite the persistent infrastructural and administrative challenges.
