EVANS OGENYI RETURNS AS KANO PILLARS HEAD COACH
Kano Pillars have officially welcomed back Evans Ogenyi as their new head coach ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Ogenyi resumed duty on Thursday, leading his first training session at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. His appointment was confirmed just a day earlier, bringing fresh energy and experience to the "Sai Masu Gida" camp.
He takes over from Usman Abdallah, who parted ways with the club following the end of the 2024–25 NPFL season.
This isn’t Ogenyi’s first spell with the club—he previously helped Kano Pillars secure promotion back to the top-flight league in 2023. His return is seen as a strategic move by the club’s management to strengthen the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
Before this role, Ogenyi served as assistant coach at Rivers United and has also managed clubs like Warri Wolves and Lobi Stars, bringing a wealth of NPFL experience to the table.
Fans will be watching closely to see how the experienced coach reshapes the team as preparations ramp up for the new campaign.
