A suspected terrorist has surrendered to troops in Borno State, while soldiers also arrested six suspected kidnappers during separate operations in Adamawa State. The developments were recorded as security forces intensified operations against terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the two states.

The Nigerian Army said the terrorist surrendered to troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade in Borno. The suspect reportedly gave himself up to the military during ongoing operations in the state, marking another surrender recorded as troops continue efforts to weaken terrorist groups and encourage their members to abandon violence.

In Adamawa, troops of the 3 Division Nigerian Army and Operation HADIN KAI arrested six suspected kidnappers during operations conducted in parts of the state. The arrests were made following intelligence-led efforts aimed at tracking criminal elements and disrupting kidnapping activities in affected communities.

The Army said the operations also involved patrols and other security activities designed to deny criminals freedom of movement and prevent them from carrying out attacks on residents. The suspects are expected to remain in military custody for investigation, while security personnel continue efforts to identify their networks and establish their involvement in kidnapping-related activities.

The military said the latest successes demonstrate the continued commitment of troops to protecting communities and maintaining security in the North-East. Residents were also encouraged to provide useful information to security agencies, particularly on the movement and activities of suspected terrorists and criminal groups, to support ongoing operations.
