EPL TABLE: CHELSEA BACK IN TOP FOUR AFTER 3-1 VICTORY OVER WOLVES
Chelsea returned to winning ways on Monday night with a 3-1 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge, a result that pushed them back into the Premier League top four.
The Blues, who had endured a five-game winless streak, broke the deadlock in the first half through Tosin Adarabioyo, who reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box. Although VAR briefly checked for offside, the goal stood.
Just before half-time, a costly mistake from goalkeeper Robert Sanchez gifted Wolves an equalizer, with Matt Doherty capitalizing to make it 1-1.
However, Chelsea responded emphatically in the second half. Marc Cucurella restored the lead before Noni Madueke added a third to seal the points for Enzo Maresca’s men.
The victory sees Chelsea climb to 40 points, moving into the Champions League spots. They now sit four points behind second-placed Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, and trail leaders Liverpool by 10 points.
Chelsea will next face a stern test against defending champions Manchester City this weekend.
