EPL: SPURS REPORT ONLINE RACISM AGAINST KEVIN DANSO TO POLICE
Tottenham Hotspur have reported racist online abuse directed at defender Kevin Danso to the police following their 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Danso was targeted on social media after a late mistake allowed Brighton’s Georginio Rutter to score an equaliser.
In a statement, Tottenham condemned the abuse as vile and dehumanising, stressing that no player should face racism regardless of results or league position.
The club said it had reported the matter to authorities and would seek the strongest possible action against anyone identified.
Danso later responded publicly, saying the abuse would not define him and had no place in football or society.
The Premier League also condemned the incident, warning that offenders could face bans and legal consequences.
The abuse happened during the league’s “No Room For Racism” campaign weekend, which promotes inclusion and fights discrimination in football.
