Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand believes Arsenal have no excuse not to win the Premier League this season, describing it as the “perfect time” to be a fan of the North London club.

Speaking on the Rio Presents podcast, Ferdinand praised the strength and depth of Arsenal’s current squad, noting that Mikel Arteta’s side now have quality cover across every position.

“Arsenal have probably got the best depth in the league right now. When the whole squad is fit, it’s an intimidating team to face,” Ferdinand said. “They’ve got robust players who can hurt you from different areas. It’s a good time to be an Arsenal fan.”

Arsenal bolstered their squad during the summer transfer window with the signings of Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, and Viktor Gyokeres, giving Arteta more attacking and midfield options.

Ferdinand added that with such a strong squad, Arsenal must now deliver and end their title drought.

“They’ve got to finish it off this time. They can’t go through this season with arguably the best squad in the league and still not get the job done,” he said.

The Gunners currently sit at the top of the Premier League table heading into the October international break, following a convincing 2-0 win over West Ham, while Liverpool slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
