Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has identified three players he believes the Red Devils can truly rely on this season.

Speaking on Premier League Productions after Manchester United’s 4-2 victory over Brighton, Hargreaves highlighted Bruno Fernandes, Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo as the players showing consistency, leadership, and trustworthiness in their performances.

Reflecting on United’s mixed start to the campaign, Hargreaves recalled their opening-day defeat to Arsenal despite a strong display, noting that moments of inconsistency have cost them crucial points.

“If you think back to the first game of the season against Arsenal, that was a good performance, but they somehow lost the game,” Hargreaves said. “When you’ve players like Cunha who’ve got real personality, I just love the way he talks and plays. Cunha and [Bryan] Mbeumo, along with Bruno Fernandes, are guys that you can rely on and trust.”

While praising their attacking improvement, Hargreaves admitted United still has defensive issues to fix. “Manchester United are scoring goals and look dangerous, but they’re conceding more than they’d like — fourteen is a lot after nine games,” he added.

Following their win over Brighton, Manchester United climbed to sixth place in the Premier League table, and Hargreaves believes maintaining consistency from their reliable performers will be key to their push for a top-four finish.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
