EPL: JOE COLE IDENTIFIES THREE KEY PLAYERS CHELSEA WILL DEPEND ON TO BEAT TOTTENHAM
Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has named three players he believes will be vital to the club’s chances of defeating Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League showdown this Saturday.
The Blues will travel to north London to face Thomas Frank’s Spurs, who currently sit third in the league table, while Chelsea occupy ninth place following a disappointing 2-1 loss to newly promoted Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham, on the other hand, enter the fixture in high spirits after a commanding 3-0 victory over Everton.
Speaking to Paddy Power, Joe Cole stressed that Chelsea would need standout performances from Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, and Estevao if they are to secure all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“Chelsea going to Spurs has traditionally been a comfortable game for the club over the years,” Cole said. “It’s the expectations at Chelsea. Tottenham are now all excited, and they’re looking up at Chelsea, who aren’t a million miles away from Spurs, but there’s a different feeling to this game.
“If Chelsea are going to beat Spurs at the weekend, you’re relying on players like Pedro Neto, who’s been brilliant, Jamie Gittens, who scored and assisted at Wolves, and Estevao.
“The goals will come from wide for Chelsea, and the midfield too. Enzo Fernandez has been contributing, but it’s going to be a tough game,” he added.
Chelsea will be looking to bounce back and close the gap on their London rivals, while Tottenham aim to continue their strong form in the race for the Premier League title.
