EPL: ‘HE’S GOT EVERYTHING’ – HARRY MAGUIRE NAMES MAN UNITED PLAYER THAT HAS IMPRESSED HIM
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has showered praise on the club’s new goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, following his standout displays in recent matches.
Lammens, who joined Manchester United from Royal Antwerp in an £18 million deal during the summer transfer window, has quickly caught attention after replacing Andre Onana as the Red Devils’ first-choice shot-stopper.
The 21-year-old Belgian made his second start for United in their 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, after also impressing on his debut against Sunderland.
Speaking after the win, Maguire admitted he was taken aback by the young goalkeeper’s confidence and composure.
“I must say I am heavily impressed by Senne Lammens,” Maguire said.
“I don’t want to get carried away because he is playing in the position with the most pressure — it’s the most difficult position at Manchester United. But he’s got everything. Great personality.”
Lammens’ recent performances have earned him praise from fans and pundits alike, though manager Ruben Amorim has urged caution in comparing him to club legend Peter Schmeichel.
Amorim made the statement after Lammens’ debut clean sheet against Sunderland, emphasizing that the young goalkeeper still needs time to develop and adapt fully to the demands of English football.
Lammens is expected to retain his place between the sticks when United continue their campaign next weekend.
