Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has warned his players to prepare for a difficult match against Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the Premier League encounter, Arteta praised Everton boss David Moyes for his experience, longevity and contribution to English football.

He described Moyes as someone other managers look up to, highlighting both his coaching ability and his personal qualities.

“For me especially, because I know the man behind the coach, which is the most important thing, and then I really know as well the coach, and he’s a superb coach,” Arteta said.

Having spent six years at Everton as a player, Arteta said he understood the club and the challenge a Moyes-led team could present.

He pointed to Everton’s organisation and individual quality as reasons Arsenal must take the visitors seriously.

According to Arteta, their unbeaten start before their most recent match reflected the strength of the team.

“It’s no coincidence they didn’t lose before their last game. They have a really good team,” he said.

The Arsenal manager also recalled that recent meetings between the clubs had been difficult for his side.

His comments underline the demanding contest he expects as Arsenal return to league action in front of their home supporters.
