Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique, has praised five of his players following their dramatic UEFA Super Cup victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

Tottenham looked set to win the trophy after leading 2-0 for more than 80 minutes. However, late strikes from substitutes Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos pulled PSG level, forcing a penalty shootout. The French champions went on to win 4-3 on spot kicks, clinching the Super Cup title.

Speaking after the game, Enrique reserved special praise for goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who he said “showed big personality” in the tense encounter. He also highlighted the impressive performances of Ibrahim Mbaye, Kang-in, Ramos, and Fabian Ruiz.

“I am very happy for Chevalier because he showed that personality,” Enrique said. “And also for the players who came from the bench, because they are so important and all of them want to play in the lineup. Today, Goncalo, Kang-in, Fabian, and Mbaye all played great.”

The win adds another piece of silverware to PSG’s collection, with Enrique making it clear that squad depth and impact substitutes will be key to their success this season.
