ENO WARNS AGAINST DIVISION AHEAD OF 2027 POLLS

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has urged residents not to allow political activities surrounding the 2027 elections to create division or disrupt the peace in the state.

Eno made the call during a New Month thanksgiving service at Qua Iboe Church, Ewet Offot, Uyo, where he encouraged residents to embrace unity, love and peaceful coexistence.

The governor said Akwa Ibom had benefited from a peaceful political environment and urged citizens to protect it as political activities increase.

He appealed to political leaders and their supporters to accommodate different opinions and avoid actions or statements capable of creating tension among residents.

Eno also said his decision to attend the thanksgiving service was based on what he described as divine leading. He disclosed that he would worship in different churches across the state on Sundays during the state’s anniversary month.

The governor commended political leaders and government officials for their contributions to the state’s development, stressing the importance of working together for continued progress.

He also appealed for continued peaceful relations among residents, saying collective effort and mutual respect were necessary for the state to remain stable and prosperous.

The governor’s comments come as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum across Akwa Ibom and other parts of the country.
