The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has called for a comprehensive review of key Federal Government reforms, citing their impact on businesses and the need for greater private sector input.

NECA Director-General, Mr. Adewale Oyerinde, made the appeal during a business roundtable, highlighting challenges posed by recent fiscal, monetary, and labour policies. He stressed the importance of balancing reform objectives with the realities of the business environment to sustain economic growth and job creation.

“We support reforms that strengthen the economy, but they must be reviewed regularly to address unintended consequences on employers and workers,” Oyerinde said. The association proposed a tripartite committee involving government, labour, and employers to fine-tune ongoing initiatives.

The call has been echoed by other private sector groups, who argue that collaborative policymaking is essential for achieving inclusive development.

Government officials have promised to engage stakeholders on the concerns raised, with a view to making necessary adjustments where required.
