EMIR SANUSI ACCUSES BAYERO’S SUPPORTERS OF ATTACKING PALACE, VANDALIZING GATE
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has accused loyalists of the ousted 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, of attacking his palace and forcefully removing one of its gates.
According to a statement from the Kano Emirate Media Team, signed by Sadam Yakasai, the incident occurred at the Kofar Kudu Palace, where Emir Sanusi resides.
The statement revealed that the attackers forcefully broke the gate, assaulted palace guards—leaving some injured—and damaged police patrol vehicles stationed at the residence.
It further alleged that Bayero had intentionally passed through the palace route, rather than the appropriate Koki–Nassarawa road, prompting his supporters to storm Gidan Rumfa (the emir’s official residence).
"This isn't the first time he has taken this route," the statement noted. "He previously used the same path after visiting his Mandawari residence, seemingly to intimidate residents in the area."
