Nigerian boxing star Elizabeth Oshoba has declared herself ready and more determined than ever as she prepares to face American fighter Melissa Parker in a highly anticipated featherweight clash scheduled for August 22 in Orlando, Florida.

Hailing from Ogun State, Oshoba remains undefeated with an impressive 9-0 record, including five knockouts. She currently holds the WBC Silver and IBO International Featherweight titles. Her upcoming fight against Parker (6-3-1, 2 KOs) marks a pivotal moment in her pursuit of world title unification.

“I feel focused, hungry, and more prepared than ever,” Oshoba said. “Every challenge is a step forward, and I’m ready to show what I’ve been building.”

The 25-year-old’s confident remarks follow a significant milestone in her career—signing a promotional deal with Most Valuable Promotions, the boxing outfit founded by social media star and professional boxer Jake Paul. This new partnership marks a major step forward for Oshoba, who made history in 2024 by becoming the first Nigerian woman to win a world boxing title. She currently ranks 10th in the World Boxing Association's featherweight division and fourth in the super lightweight category.

Oshoba recently extended her undefeated streak with a commanding points win over Czech boxer Lenka Volejnikova at London’s iconic York Hall—another performance that cements her status as a rising force in global boxing.

Since turning professional, Oshoba has rapidly ascended the ranks, collecting prestigious titles along the way. Her victory over Italy’s Michela Braga in Copenhagen, secured with a stunning 10th-round knockout, earned her the WBC Silver Featherweight belt and confirmed her as a serious contender on the world stage.

Melissa Parker, on the other hand, brings experience and resilience to the ring. Her record, which includes six wins, three losses, and one draw, reflects a battle-tested opponent capable of pushing Oshoba to her limits in what is expected to be a defining bout.

A win in Orlando would not only preserve Oshoba’s perfect record but also strengthen her position for future title opportunities and potential matchups against top contenders in the featherweight division.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
