The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to urgently eliminate terrorists and their sponsors before the United States takes any military action in Nigeria.

Speaking on Friday during the November Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye made the remarks while responding to recent statements credited to US President Donald Trump.

He advised President Bola Tinubu to give the newly appointed service chiefs a three-month deadline to eradicate terrorism and its financiers across the country.

“This is not the time for apportioning blame. Our President inherited this problem — it started before him,” Adeboye said.

He warned that if the United States were to launch military operations in Nigeria, global powers like China and Russia would not come to the country’s defence, noting that “they would only talk.”

Adeboye’s comments came after Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Christianity in Nigeria was facing an “existential threat” from radical Islamist groups.

Trump had further declared that the United States “cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening,” adding that his administration would be “ready, willing, and able to protect our great Christian population around the world.”

He also called on members of Congress to investigate the situation, directing Congressman Riley Moore, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole, and others to report back to him.
