EKITI MUST BUILD SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS — FORMER GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE
Tope Adebayo urges long-term economic planning and institutional collaboration to consolidate structural growth and secure sustainable prosperity for the state
Former Ekiti State governorship candidate, Tope Adebayo, has called for deliberate strategies to build a robust and resilient economy capable of sustaining future generations.
Speaking on economic development priorities, Adebayo emphasized that sustainable progress depends on creating enduring economic structures rather than relying on short-term palliatives.
He commended the Governor Biodun Oyebanji-led administration for its notable strides in fiscal transparency, audit performance, internal revenue generation, and critical infrastructure expansion across transport and road networks.
According to the former candidate, the current focus on strengthening governance systems and consolidating developmental achievements provides a solid foundation for scaling socio-economic impact across rural and urban communities.
Adebayo stressed the necessity of harmonious collaboration among the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government, alongside traditional institutions, private sector investors, and citizens, to safeguard democratic institutions while accelerating state development.
He also applauded the leadership of the Ekiti State House of Assembly for advancing legislative modernization, highlighting the ongoing remodeling of the Assembly complex and the digitalization of legislative processes as vital steps toward institutional efficiency.
Adebayo concluded by urging political leaders and stakeholders across party lines to prioritize the long-term prosperity of Ekiti State, ensuring that policy frameworks remain focused on youth empowerment, industrial expansion, and economic sustainability.
