A Magistrate Court in Ekiti State has ordered the remand of a middle-aged man, identified as Ibrahim, for allegedly killing his daughter’s boyfriend during a violent attack in Ado-Ekiti.

The tragic incident happened near the popular Corps’ Lodge on New Iyin Road, where the deceased had gone to visit his girlfriend.

Reports say Ibrahim, displeased with the relationship, confronted the young man and, with the help of his siblings, launched a brutal assault.

The victim was said to have suffered severe injuries and died from excessive bleeding shortly after the attack.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ekiti, Sunday Abutu, stated that Ibrahim and two other suspects linked to the attack have been arraigned and remanded in prison custody.

The case has stirred shock and concern among residents, as many describe the incident as a heartbreaking reminder of how anger and violence can lead to irreversible tragedy.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
