State government distributes starter packs, equipment, and grants to foster self-reliance and inclusive economic growth

The Ekiti State Government has successfully empowered 100 persons with disabilities (PWDs) following the completion of an intensive vocational skills acquisition program.

The empowerment initiative, spearheaded by the state's ministry of human development and social welfare, is designed to bridge the employment gap and foster financial independence among vulnerable citizens.

Beneficiaries received comprehensive training in various vocational trades, including tailoring, hair styling, information technology, shoe-making, and modern agricultural enterprises.

Speaking at the graduation and disbursement ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, state officials emphasized that inclusive governance remains a core priority of the current administration.

Participants were presented with modern working equipment, starter packs, and financial grants to enable them to establish independent businesses and transition into self-reliant entrepreneurs.

Representatives of disability advocacy groups lauded the state government for the timely intervention, noting that such targeted programs significantly reduce poverty and promote social integration across communities.
