The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ekiti State has assured residents that the forthcoming governorship election will be transparent, credible, and inclusive, with all necessary measures in place to guarantee a successful electoral process.

The commissioner stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) remains committed to conducting an election that reflects the will of the people while adhering strictly to electoral laws and guidelines.

According to the REC, preparations for the poll have reached an advanced stage, with sensitive and non-sensitive materials being deployed to designated locations across the state.

The commission also emphasized its commitment to ensuring that all eligible voters, including persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, are able to participate fully in the election.

INEC officials have been undergoing training to ensure professionalism and efficiency on election day, while voter education campaigns have continued across the state.

The REC urged political parties, candidates, and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and avoid actions capable of undermining the integrity of the electoral process.

Security agencies have also been mobilised to provide adequate protection for voters, election officials, and electoral materials throughout the exercise.

Election observers and civil society organisations are expected to monitor the poll to enhance transparency and public confidence in the process.

The commission reiterated that every valid vote will count and assured voters that measures have been put in place to prevent electoral malpractice.

As election day approaches, residents have been encouraged to participate peacefully and contribute to a credible democratic process.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
