EFCC ARRESTS THREE OVER ALLEGED VOTE BUYING IN ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended three individuals suspected of engaging in vote buying during the ongoing Anambra State governorship election.
The arrests were made at various polling units across the state while voting was still in progress.
According to the anti-graft agency, one of the suspects, identified as Emeka Ilokasia, was nabbed at Ward 2 in Njikoka Local Government Area. Another suspect, Nwachukwu Loretta, was arrested at Ward 2 (008) in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area, while Emuka Chuwudi was picked up at Umunachi village in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
The EFCC stated that all three were apprehended during the governorship poll held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, and would face prosecution once investigations are completed.
