EDO STATE GOVERNMENT DEMOLISHES PROPERTIES LINKED TO SUSPECTED RITUALIST AND CULTIST IN UROMI AND EWATTO
State task force pulls down structures utilized for alleged organ harvesting and cult violence, reiterating Governor Okpebholo's zero-tolerance policy on criminal hideouts
The Edo State Government has demolished two properties in Uromi and Ewatto, Esan North-East and Esan South-East Local Government Areas, allegedly used for ritual activities, organ harvesting, and cult-related crimes.
The demolition exercise was executed under the supervision of state security task forces following the arrest of two principal suspects by security operatives. One of the structures, a residential bungalow located in Uromi, was linked to a suspect identified as Ebhata Eromosele, who was tracked down after more than a month of surveillance by the Edo State Security Corps following the discovery of mutilated female bodies in nearby drainages.
Speaking on the operation, the Zonal Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, retired SP Johnson Oyameda, confirmed that a search of the Uromi property uncovered bloodstained bedding and other incriminating material connecting the suspect to ritual attacks involving three female victims, one of whom died from her injuries. A second property in Ewatto, tied to an arrested suspect accused of orchestrating violent cult clashes in the community, was also leveled by heavy machinery.
Coordinator of the Edo State Special Security Squad, Amiolemen Idemudia, reiterated that Governor Monday Okpebholo has issued strict directives to destroy any building or property utilized as a haven for criminal activities across the state. Both suspects remain in the custody of the Edo State Police Command pending formal charges and legal prosecution.
