In a major boost to healthcare delivery, a leading hospital in Edo State has acquired state-of-the-art In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) equipment to expand access to fertility treatment.

The management of the Central Hospital, Benin City, announced the development on Tuesday, describing it as a significant milestone in reproductive health services in the state.

The newly installed equipment is expected to reduce the cost of IVF procedures and make advanced fertility care more accessible to couples struggling with infertility.

Chief Medical Director, Dr. Andrew Ohenhen, said the acquisition aligns with the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure.

“Many families have had to travel outside Edo State or the country for IVF. This new facility will bring succour to our people and reduce the financial burden,” he stated.

The hospital has also trained specialists to handle the new equipment, with plans to commence full services in the coming weeks.

Health experts commend the move, noting it will address rising cases of infertility linked to lifestyle and environmental factors in the region.
